Over 20 years of experience in electrical work

Solar and electrical experts, servicing the Northern Territory.

Residential, commercial and industrial solar and electrical work, from grid connect and battery systems through to full off grid power. Based in Darwin, proudly servicing the Northern Territory.

Over 20 years of experience in electrical work.
Now behind every system we install.

APG Solar designs, supplies, installs and monitors residential, commercial and industrial solar, battery and off grid power systems across the Northern Territory, and carries out the full range of electrical work across the same patch. One company from the first site visit to the day the system is switched on, and after it.

Who we work for

From a family home to an off grid station

Most of what we do is residential. The same design and install crew covers commercial sites and stand alone systems a long way past the last pole.

Residential

Solar and battery systems for Northern Territory homes, sized against what the house actually uses rather than what fits on the roof.

A large silver clad industrial shed in the Northern Territory with a commercial solar array along its roof, under a towering build up cloud

Commercial

Larger arrays for sheds, workshops, offices and industrial sites, designed around the load and the tariff rather than the roof space.

Off grid

Solar, battery and generator working as one system for properties with no mains connection. The work that has to be designed properly.

What we do

Solar and electrical, from one company

Two trades run by the same crew, so a job that needs both is still one job.

Solar and battery

Designed, supplied, installed, commissioned and monitored in house, for homes, businesses and industrial sites.

  • Grid connect solar
  • Solar with battery storage
  • Off grid solar, battery and generator
  • System design, supply and installation
  • Maintenance, monitoring and fault finding

Electrical

The full range of electrical contracting, from a power point through to three phase distribution.

  • Residential, commercial and industrial
  • Underground mains and site services
  • Air conditioning and cool rooms
  • Automation and communications
  • Antennas and generator installations
A line up of commercial switchboard cubicles in a plant room, several doors open on rows of circuit breakers and copper busbar

Electrical work

Switchboards, undergrounds, fitouts and faults.

Residential, commercial and industrial. New work, rewires, switchboard upgrades, underground mains and site reticulation, fault finding, and the specialist jobs: air conditioning, cool rooms, automation, communications, antennas and generators.

Because the same crew does both sides, a board that has to be upgraded before an array can go on is part of the same job rather than a second trade and a second wait.

Our work

Recent installations

Residential arrays, commercial systems, stand alone off grid power and electrical work across the Northern Territory.

Rows of solar panels rail mounted along a commercial roof, with tropical scrub and palms behind it under a clear sky

Commercial solar

Roof mounted array

Panels rail mounted in long runs across a commercial roof, set out to keep the rows clear of the ridge and the cable runs off the sheeting.

Rows of solar panels either side of a galvanised cable tray on a commercial roof, with DC cabling being run along it and trees on the horizon

Commercial solar

Cable tray and panel runs

Panel runs set out either side of a galvanised cable tray on a commercial roof, with the DC cabling carried in the tray rather than across the sheeting.

Fronius three phase solar inverters mounted on a shed wall, with orange DC cabling run in overhead cable tray

Solar electrical

Inverters and DC cabling

Three phase inverters mounted and terminated, with the DC runs carried in tray and the isolators set where they can actually be reached.

A ground mounted solar array on galvanised steel frames on a cleared block, with tropical trees along the far treeline

Ground mount solar

Array on the ground

A ground mounted array on galvanised frames, used where the roof is the wrong pitch, the wrong aspect or simply not big enough.

Why us

Over 20 years in the electrical trade, and a team qualified to back it.

A qualified team
Qualified electricians on the tools, and the engineers and roof crews we work with on the larger jobs.
One company, start to finish
Design, supply, installation, commissioning and monitoring, all in house. Nobody to hand you off to halfway through.
Built for the Top End
Systems sized for the heat, the cloud and a wet season load, not for a brochure written down south.
We come back
We look after the systems we install, and plenty that other people put in.
Locally owned, and staying
Based in Darwin and Palmerston, working right across the NT. No southern call centre in between.

Service area

Solar across the Northern Territory

Based in Darwin, working across the Top End and down the track.

Darwin and Palmerston

The home patch. Most residential and commercial work happens here.

Darwin, Palmerston, Johnston, Howard Springs

The rural block

Larger blocks, longer runs, and where most off grid work is.

Humpty Doo, Marrakai, Kakadu

Down the track

Further afield, and worth a call for larger projects.

Katherine, Alice Springs

Not sure whether we come out your way? It costs nothing to ask.

Our story

Set up to do solar properly.

APG Solar exists because of the two things that go wrong most often on a solar job: work that is not organised properly, and nobody coming back once the invoice is paid.

So the design, the supply, the installation, the commissioning and the monitoring all happen in house. There is nobody to hand you off to, and the same crew does the electrical work, which means a switchboard that needs upgrading before an array goes on is part of the same job. On larger jobs we bring in the people we work with regularly rather than whoever is available: electrical engineers, structural engineers, automation engineers, refrigeration mechanics and roofing teams.

APG Solar is a proudly local Northern Territory business, working across all regions of the NT.
